Hello!
I am a director of SAIP.
Welcome!
For more than 10 year's counseling for the addicts, I've seen that the addicts are recognized as failures, criminals and even destroyers of family and society. For the reason they should have been isolated and punished by their society and they also have been not even considered as the desperate needy for intensive care and therapy.
Actually, addiction comes from lack of love. However the addicts cannot expect love for cure themselves rather, they are put to punishment by their society and family. In this vicious cycle, their symptoms of addiction are getting more consolidated becoming worse than before. After all, there has occurred such false belief as addiction is incurable disease.
The recovery process of addiction may not be easy however it is definitely curable and recoverable. The addicts can surely have 'Born again' experience. Fortunately, support groups based on this belief have started and activated in Korea such as AA, NA, GA, SAA and etc. We expect them to contribute to those areas.
If the approaches and method in addiction therapy are changed and also respectful and supported environment are provided together with professional help which enables the addicts to experience good object relationship, the cure and recovery of addiction is not that far and difficult.
SAIP will do our best in order that the addicts overcome their issues and enjoy their life fully.
